Reviews for Latest Samsung NC10 Netbook

Good Points
good battery! small and slick design it has xp much better than vista
It's the best netbook on the market as far as I'm concerned. I did a lot of research and in the end couldn't find anything better at the time.

Good points
Excellent design, very sleek and contemporary. Windows XP (CANT STAND VISTA!). Does everything you need but in a pint sized design. Very easy to take everywhere, watch video / listen to music on trains etc
Bad points
Not a particularly good carry case. Flimsy. Doesnt close. Nowhere to secure it and carry it, have to hold it in your hand. No CD / DVD drive (obviously that would ruin the design, but a little slide in DVD drive would have been a real bonus like on the dell 1300).

Good points
Great Little Machine
Bad points
Needs a bit more memory, this is cheap and easyto do....so why didn't samsung do it?

Good points
very attractive functional net book with excellent battery life. I have upgraded the OS to windows 7, and upgraded RAM to 2Gb, bought a leather case and I finally extremely satisfied with my purchase. Also purchased logitech Bluetooth mouse which compensates slightly for the small trackpad. Very nice keyboard facilities and supplied samsung battery manager software gets the most out of the good battery.
Bad points
Small trackpad, antiquated OS, 10.2" screen required a lot of scrolling and the processor struggles with BBC iplayer.

Good points
Excellent battery life; I use it to take notes in lectures and I can get through a whole day on battery alone and still have hours of battery life left. It's one of few netbooks that come with Windows XP rather than Linux. It's very stylish, the NC10 I purchased was a pearl-like off white and looks stunning--way more attractive than alternatives. The keyboard size is perfect as it is almost full-size and doesn't take much getting used to in comparison to a full-size notebook.
Bad points
The touchpad is a bit small.

Was all set to buy a Advent 4211, but for 18 Pounds more (in the UK) I decided I'd get the Samsung NC10 on the strength of this review. The better keyboard, longer battery life and larger disk seemed to give the NC10 the edge, at the moment and mine arrived today. It's now loaded up with a collection of my most used software and seems to be living up to this review, mostly. The keyboard is good, except for the odd decision (on this uk version) to locate the wide shift key on the left rather than the right (under the enter key) as it is on every other keyboard I've seen in the UK, which is going to take a while to adapt to. The final decision to buy the Samsung was made on the grounds of a comparison of the screen of the Advent and the Samsung. To me the Samsung looks much sharper and clearer and a colleague commented how clear it was compared to my work laptop's (a 15" HP). Out of the box it looks and feels great

This review needs to be updated. 1) Both US and european version will have 160GB HD. You must re-run the data tranfer test for the new drive 2) The shared video memory is stated as 128MB not 64MB on the specs. You must also re-run the 3dmark 03 benchmark All in all i think this netbook will rock! I have seen a photo with a sim card slot. Is it real or fake? thanks
